📲 Import & restore a wallet

Import a wallet into Spot or restore an existing Spot wallet

👉 Restore from another wallet

We support import from most wallets like MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase wallet or Rainbow.


🦊 MetaMask wallet

Launch MetaMask then tap on the account button in the top-right corner.

Then tap on ⚙️ Settings button at the bottom of the menu.

Scroll in the Settings menu then tap on Security & Privacy.

Finally tap on "Reveal Secret Recovery Phrase" and enter your MetaMask password to get your recovery phrase.


Then, go to the Account tab in Spot > Security > Restore old wallet and copy the recovery phrase. You may need to perform a manual backup of your current wallet for security reasons.

👻 Phantom wallet

Launch Phantom wallet then tap on the ⚙️ Settings icon in the bottom-right corner.

Scroll down and tap on "Show Secret Recovery Phrase" and enter your Phantom password to get your recovery phrase.

Then, go to the Account tab in Spot > Security > Restore old wallet and copy the recovery phrase. You may need to perform a manual backup of your current wallet for security reasons.


🧿 Coinbase wallet

Launch Coinbase wallet then tap on the ⚙️ Settings icon in the tab bar.

Tap on the "Recovery Phrase" button then enter your Coinbase wallet PIN code to get your recovery phrase.

Then, go to the Account tab in Spot > Security > Restore old wallet and copy the recovery phrase. You may need to perform a manual backup of your current wallet for security reasons.


🌈 Rainbow wallet

Launch Rainbow wallet then slide left or tap on the profile pic in the top-left corner.

Tap on the ⚙️ Settings icon in the top-left corner then tap on "Backup".

Tap on "View secret phrase" to get your recovery phrase.

Then, go to the Account tab in Spot > Security > Restore old wallet and copy the recovery phrase. You may need to perform a manual backup of your current wallet for security reasons.


Restore from an existing Spot wallet

If you had funds in a Spot wallet before, then you were forced to perform a backup of your wallet.

It was either a ☁️ cloud backup as recommended or a ✍️ manual backup (a recovery phrase with 12 words that you had to write down).

✍️ Manual backup

If you had performed a ✍️ manual backup in Spot before, you will then be able to enter your 12-words recovery phrase to recover your wallet.

🚨 You should never share your 12-words recovery phrase with anyone and we will never ask you to share it with us. The recovery phrase contains your cryptocurrencies and the right to spend them.

☁️ Cloud backup

If you had performed a ☁️ cloud backup, then you will automatically be asked if you want to restore this wallet when installing Spot on a new phone or re-installing Spot on the same device.

☑️ You have to make sure you are connected with the same iCloud account/Google account that was used when the cloud backup was made.

☑️ You will need the PIN code you used to protect your wallet when you preformed the cloud backup the first time.
